Namamasko Po: A New Normal In The Philippines (Q2)

In the barangay of Balaleng, Bantay, where children sing their Christmas ballads as they carol the streets happily with their voices, the smiling faces of the barangay linger along the Christmas atmosphere, and colorful parols and lights brighten the streets, there lives a family eagerly preparing for Christmas.

The Cayago family, like many others, had to change their traditions to adapt to the new norms of modern life. With social distancing measures and travel restrictions in place, they knew this Christmas would be unlike any other.

As December neared, the Cayago household was filled with enthusiasm. Instead of the traditional large reunion with distant family, they decided to hold a virtual Christmas party. Mother opened her phone, waiting for everyone to join the video chat; thus they joined, allowing everyone to participate in the festive night from the comfort of their homes.
